OH. HI THERE.

Waaaah~ ;A; I haven't made a post in a LONG time! I'm sorry... >n< I've been very lazy and this month has been pretty busy. Next month, though, is going to be even crazier. Within the first few weeks of November are the LVAC 20 years meeting, James and I are celebrating our second anniversary, my mom is turning 432749823, AND Anime Vegas is happening! All within a few days of eachother! O_O

Anyway, I guess I should recap all the way from the races. James' family from California came down with their motor home to watch the indy race final things here. I don't keep up with racing though, you know me, I'm a luxury car person rather than a fast crashing car person. I still like watching the races even though I've got no clue what's going on, though. So we all went out to their motor home for the weekend to see them! At first, it was so super fun. Sammy was there with us, we got ice cream and hot dogs and had burritos for dinner. We walked around the track and took the tram to the seats, looked at all the merchandise and things on display around the stands. There was even a Lamborghini stand there! *0* <333 I was just like "DUDE WAIT. LET ME GO TAKE PICTURES PLEASE." and the guys at the booth were really nice and let me take as many as I wanted~. There's where the first picture at the beginning of the post game from!

Then the indy races started on the second day and we were all excited. We were standing at the fence at the motor home row watching them make the first laps when the really bad crash happened. Everyone around us was like "oh man, that's going to be bad" but I couldn't see the worst of it. Cars had flipped over and there were like thirteen people involved in the accident. Obviously, everything stopped and people were taken to the hospital in helicopters and ambulances, so James and I decided to take the tram to the stands to see if any of them knew what was happening. When we got to the other side, they announced that the race was going to be ended. I was like thinking more towards 'we have to get on the tram before it gets crowded' when they suddenly announced that the driver of the car who had flipped over, Dan Weldon, was dead. Everybody just sort of stopped in their tracks. It was really sad, even though I never knew him and I don't follow racing at all, it was just. Wow. It was not a good end to the day. The mood was really low and the drivers who were still in working cars did memorial laps for him. ;_;

That was the only big depressing event to happen. From there it's been working a lot on preparations and videos for LVAC's 20 year anniversary meeting thing. It's going to be at the Red Rock, and I think the videos and slideshows look really great so far! I hope everyone likes them because it's really the only thing we've been working on for a long while now. The meeting happens to fall on November 5, as well. James and I started dating on November 5 of 2009 so the date is very special to us~ <33 I'm trying to find some way to surprise him... but since he might read this I won't say what it is!

Then, directly after is my mom's birthday. I already know what we're doing: I'm going to take her out for a pedicure (which is one of her favorite odd past-times) and go to Famous Dave's to eat, because she loves it there. Everyone in my family has also pitched in to buy her a Maxfield Parrish painting for her room. I think it'll look really nice~

We've been switching between houses pretty regularly and my midterms are over. I actually only had midterms for one class, which I think is weird. This weekend has been basically work-free so James and I have been playing Knights of the Old Republic (to get hyped even more for The Old Republic when it comes out this winter) and for some reason I've been playing Silent Hill: Homecoming. It reminds me of living in the condo in 07-08. Bri got the new pets expansion for the Sims 3 and it's hilarious. Hmm... What else? We went to a military surplus store for boots and now our cosplays are both officially done! All I have to do is trim the bangs and the back of James' Russia wig and straighten the sides of my Liet wig because they've been curling out just a bit when I put it on. Other than that, we're totally set for AV!

I think I'm really excited for this cosplay because it's my first time cosplaying characters I really love. Did you know that for AV 2008, I cosplayed Konan from Naruto? :D All of my friends were cosplaying Akatsuki characters, but there was no Konan! I think this was before she appeared in the anime, but I still took it up right away. I learned origami and everything, I bought her ring and somehow I knew that I had to fake a lip piercing, because I didn't want a real one. So I bought a pair of magnetic earrings that looked like her lip piercing and a strong little magnet, put the magnet on the inside of my lip and one of the little earrings on the outside. I know, it's dangerous! I wish I hadn't done that, it was really painful and I probably could have hurt my lip if I had worn it for more than three days, but we were doing anything to make the cosplay look right. I still have the blue wig I used for her too! Then, later that year, we went on vacation to Cambria and I cosplayed Seychelles, also from Hetalia. Back in '08, Hetalia cosplay wasn't big at all, so most people at the beach during the photoshoot probably just thought I was running around in a nice dress and red bows. =w=;; But, either way, those are the only cosplays I've done so far and they've just been because the character is convenient for me to cosplay. It wasn't because I particularly loved Seychelles and Konan (I like them but they're not my favorites ever) but because it would just be easy or good for other people. Now I finally get to cosplay my favorite and it makes me happy~. c:

I don't think anything else particularly interesting or noteworthy has happened, so I'll end with a picture of my badass TF jacket. I'm still sorry for neglecting this blog again. n_n;; Oh, I've been having lots of really weird dreams lately, so I'm thinking about making a blog just to post them on, so they don't clog this one up. Good idea? =w=

UAHAHA

So for the last few days at work we've been going through these old ads from LVAC in the late '80s and early '90s. God they are hilarious, everyone has the poofer hair and legwarmers and leotards, and the music is just... it is what it is. I think it's really charming and cute, but at the same time it's all so corny! There's one where a lady is flipping her hair around saying "made you look!" as the commercial goes by, and people singing "wow, she really works out" in the background. I was laughing so hard watching it.

Oh, also, Revenge of the Fallen is totally on TV right now! Holy shit am I happy to see it again, I said I was going to re-watch it a long time ago but forgot. It's sorta cut up, obviously, and the obscene parts are gone, but it's refreshing to watch it again. <33 I loved DOTM Tentacle Mercedes No Prisoners Just Trophies Soundwave, but I totally love satellite Soundwave in this movie too, how he just sorta chills there~

It's pretty obvious that I have nothing to talk about right now. =w= ONE MAN. ALONE. BETRAYED BY THE COUNTRY HE LOVES.

Before I end this- Go see Real Steel! It's really great, actually! (I had a shitfit when they introduced the Legion robot, I sorta leaned over to James and whispered "true to caesar," as he smooshed Noisy Boy's head off. ANYWAY.) It was a sweet movie. Renn Fair happened too but I'll talk about that in my next picture post.

2.10.11

Oh, it's October.

Yeah I like didn't even realize the months had changed at all, it's still so super hot here. ;o; I guess I haven't made a post because I've been busy with work and classes, and other than that there's nothing to talk about that's interesting. n_n;;

I guess for the next two weeks I'll be working more, because we have to put together a video for LVAC's 20 year anniversary. We're getting pictures from everyone in 1991 when it was born and I was just a baby! The youngest sales people there were all in grade school back then, so does that make me the youngest person working in corporate? I hope not, I hate being the youngest. =w=

Our wigs for cosplay came in the mail a few days ago. Both of them look really good! I'm especially satisfied with James' Russia wig... I know they send you a wig with slightly long bangs and whatnot so that you can trim it, and on me it just looks like a blonde bob, but on his head it's the right length in the back without even having to trim it. This week I'll cut the bangs and that will be that, since I already cut my wig's bangs while watching videos on YouTube with Bri. That somehow seems like it wouldn't work, but it did.

James' Russia outfit also got here yesterday and I'm totally in love with it. I would post a review and pictures and everything but Bri, Kaela, and I are still going to make a review blog... eventually. We don't have a name for it yet or anything. But it looks really nice, everything is lined and warm and if I was taller I'd totally just like wear the coat around for shits and giggles. It looks ridiculous on me 'cause I'm like a foot shorter than James is, though. The people who sent us the cosplay even sent us a tiny Russian flag and a sunflower, and a tiny keychain of a bear that says "I love you" when you squeeze it's tummy. Seriously wtf how adorable. =w= <33

I feel like someday I'd like to sew my own cosplays, but for now I'm content with purchasing them because I know hoe terrible I am at sewing, and if I made something it'd look like total crap, and even though I appreciate the effort put into home-made cosplay, it is super off-putting when it's sloppily or badly sewn. I have so much respect for people who can make their own outfits by hand really well, it's such a skill. *o* If I had money and time I'd take a sewing class, but I'm so bogged down with stuff right now, and I want to spend my money on other things.

Also, not sure if I've been keeping this blog up with my grandma's broken hip adventures. In August, she fell and broke her hip and realized she shouldn't be living by herself, so she decided to move to an assisted living place right next to where Bri and I grew up. Right now, she lives in the house we spent our childhood in, and wants to walk away from the house since she was a derp during the housing market boom. My dad really wants to save the house, and so do I! I know it won't be worth anything, but I would want to live there again someday. There are lots of memories and good times there and I'd hate to see the bank just take it and throw it off to someone who will never sell it because it was built a long time ago and new houses are dirt cheap here too. I hope he ends up getting it from her.

Oh, and today is really pretty! There's a thunderstorm going on outside, so I am getting off the computer now. It sort of scares me that the house will get struck by lightning and my laptop will get fried. =w=
