huuuuugh post

I thought I would share my current wallpaper on here, just 'cause this time it isn't dump crap and it's actually a really gorgeous picture. I got it from last month's Transfriday threads. So beautiful augh. ;__;

I haven't made a post in a while, so let me try to recap things as I go along.

First, I got my Canon A-1 and lenses in the mail today in a GIANT PULL-UPS BOX. It was great. Everything needs a good cleaning to get rid of dust but I am supper happy with how cheap I got the body, winder, flashes, light meter, filters, and four lenses for. Can't beat eBay bargains. :D

I dyed my hair black, as well. Only semi-permanent, though, because I wasn't sure if I would like it. I really do! I'm so tired of having two-toned hair, the black feels nice for a change. I think I'll do it permanently.

Now... Last weekend, my mom started to get REALLY sick from Alex and Austin. They've pretty much gotten over it, but she thinks she has an infection or bronchitis or something. Trying to avoid catching it, James and I went to Town Square and ate at California Pizza Kitchen, and just hung out and had fun. I got astronaut ice cream and we walked around Fry's for like an hour. I can't believe War For Cybertron is still like $40 used. Last Thursday we went to Applebee's and had to get a rice cooker since the old one broke.

Then on Monday, we went to the Shark Reef at the Mandalay Bay~ *0* It was so awesome. I haven't been there since I was like 12. The jellyfish were all so beautiful and they had these GIANT fish that I remember catching in the Amazon Trail game me and Bri used to play. The sharks were all swimming around really fast because someone was feeding them from above where we were standing. These was also a pimpin' Komodo Dragon, and just generally some awesome stuff there that I haven't seen before!

Today at work I scanned pictures while my dad built another Taos spot. Then, we went to see a show called Recycled Percussion, who landed a show at the Tropicana because they were finalists on America's Got Talent. It was really great, you get to bang on stuff like pots and pans all throughout the show! On the way in, a staff guy gave me a blue happy face sticker and told me to keep it. Turns out that everyone who got a sticker had to go on stage. So there was like a row of us, and they handed us each a mask (mine was a white at, loool) and had us try to imitate a drum solo. I totally couldn't, so I just hit the drum. Once. Then they had us flip out drumsticks in the air, and I TOTALLY failed at that too. c: It was great though! I kept my sticker. We were seated up front right next to the bass and on the way out I saw the Jeep Rubicon two-door in dark red that I love so much. It was a good day. :3

I can't really think of anythign else important that I missed, but I feel like I'm leaving something out. Oh well~ I'll post pictures of these various events as the film gets developed and as I feel like getting my memory card out of my camera. I'm growing a Canon zoo.
